Dialysate additives afford clinics the ability to reduce the number of stock dialysate formulas held in inventory, while still being able to provide individual patients with an optimal electrolyte balance during hemodialysis treatment.
BAK Potassium Chloride (K+) Additives
BAK dry powder dialysate additives consist of a premeasured amount of USP grade potassium chloride within a black color coded packet, clearly labeled with its corresponding proportioning system symbol, gram size, mEq/L formulation change, and instructions for use.
BAC Calcium Chloride (Ca+) Additives
BAC dry powder dialysate additives consist of a premeasured amount of USP grade calcium chloride within a green color coded packet, clearly labeled with its corresponding proportioning system symbol, gram size, mEq/L formulation change, and instructions for use.
Liquid Additives
Variable-dose liquid dialysate additives allow a clinic to stock single electrolyte additive products with the capability of adjusting various bath sizes, milliequivalent increase (mEq+), and dialysate formulations. KAC-200 is a Liquid Potassium Acetate Dialysate Additive (K+), specifically designed for variable potassium electrolyte level adjustments. CA-200 is a Liquid Calcium Chloride Dialysate Additive (Ca+), specifically designed for variable calcium electrolyte level adjustments.
All additives are available with color coded dialysate bath Attention Labels to show the date adjusted, by which technician, and mEq+ increase.

All Di-Chem citric acid products are formulated to the highest standards with U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) and European Pharmacopoeia (EP) grade citric acid.
Di-Chem offers multiple dry bicarbonate concentrate formulations. Dry bicarbonate concentrate is to be dissolved with AAMI quality water with the use of a suitable mixing system and used in conjunction with a corresponding acid concentrate solution. Bicarbonate concentrate products are available for the 45X, 36.83X and 35X proportioning systems. Custom formulations and packaging sizes are available.
